Holy Trinity Church Killiney,
welcomes you to the parish church on the "Green
Hill" overlooking
the city of Dublin and Killiney bay. |
| |
Even very plain churches are loved with great feeling and
loyalty by those who are accustomed to worship in them. A
little country church, built in the nineteenth century with
little more than the grant from the Board of First Fruits,
with its squeaky harmonium, is still valued and loved by those
who consider it their spiritual home and use it as their place
for prayer. |
| |
At the same time, in every diocese of the Church of Ireland
within the Anglican Communion, there are churches that are
special, not just in the eye of the beholder, but genuinely
special in their position, in their appointments, and probably
most important, in having an air of being freighted with
prayer and worship. |
| |
Such a church, I believe, is Holy Trinity Church, Killiney.
It is the 'city set on a hill that cannot be hid'. Its
situation overlooking Dublin City and Dublin Bay is unique. No
radical change has been made to it since 1863 -5 years after
the original church was built, nor does it need any radical
change. The impetus to keep it in the excellent order in which
it should be kept has increased in recent times.

of God for our children and grandchildren. We therefore,
invite you to enter into our ministry for Christ, through this
website, and join with us in sharing our small
contribution through the Anglican Communion worldwide.
